NIS arrests fleeing Bobrisky at Seme border

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has confirmed the arrest of crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, on Monday at the Seme border.
In a statement signed by the NIS public relations officer, KT Udo, Bobrisky was arrested at the Seme border while attempting to flee the country.
The statement read, “In keeping with its commitment to securing the borders, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) intercepted Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, otherwise known as Bobrisky, at the Seme Border over an attempt to exit the country.”
NIS, in the statement, said Bobrisky, a person of interest over recent issues of public concern, “is undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action.”
The agency assured the public of its continued resolve to remain civil and professional in its statutory responsibility of securing the nation’s borders.
The confirmation by the NIS comes hours after popular activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, notified the public of Bobrisky’s arrest.
According to Mr Otse, Bobrisky’s attempt to flee the country was aimed at evading an investigation at the National Assembly into his alleged bribery of officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to drop money laundering charges against him and his alleged bribery of officials of the Nigerian Correctional Centre to ensure he was incarcerated outside its premises.
