Nine persons killed, 21 injured in Katsina trailer crash

The Federal Road Safety Corps has confirmed nine people dead and 21 others injured in a road crash in Dankama, Kaita LGA.
The casualties were announced in a statement on Thursday.
FRSC said the incident occurred when a trailer carrying cows and humans separated from the head and fell on a pavement.
According to the statement, the trailer driver was trying to prevent crushing a woman who fell from the top of a Golf car overloaded with beans.
The FRSC revealed that the trailer driver, while trying to avoid crushing the woman, lost control of the vehicle and caused the trailer to separate from the head, killing nine persons and injuring 21 others.
The injured passengers were taken to the Primary Healthcare Centre, Kaita. Some were referred to Katsina General Hospital and the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina.
