NiMet forecasts thunderstorms, rainfall across Nigeria

In the southern region, a cloudy atmosphere with strong thunderstorms and moderate rainfall is expected over Lagos, Osun, Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Bayelsa, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom during the morning. Widespread thunderstorms are anticipated across the region during the afternoon or evening.
The agency urged the public to take adequate precautions, as strong winds might precede the rains in areas where thunderstorms are likely, and to ensure that loose objects are fastened to avoid collisions.
NiMet further urged the public to avoid driving in heavy rain and to disconnect electrical appliances from electrical sockets.
