Pastor Kolawole Daniel of the Christ For All Church in Ilorin has warned the public against the abuse of social media.

Mr Daniel told journalists in Ilorin on Sunday that social media platforms have regrettably been negatively used to promote hate and crisis.

The cleric decried that youths share nude photos on social media platforms, thereby promoting immorality.

“They have turned social media into a dustbin, where anything can be put and deposited for public view,” said the cleric. “We wrongly use Facebook, X, Instagram, Whatsapp and other apps to promote immorality.”

He pointed out that Nigerians have been misusing social media and have never minded the consequences of the wrong use.

“Wrong use of social media is doing more damage than many people think. We need to be careful the way we just post fake news and attack people wrongly,” the cleric said.

The cleric then urged all Nigerians of different age grades to use social media in a decent way rather than using it to mislead the public.
