Nigerian soldiers receive first class training: Defence minister

The Minister of Defence, Bashir Magashi, says the federal Government has invested heavily in ensuring first class training of officer cadets of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA).
Mr Magashi said this on Wednesday where he inaugurated some projects at the NDA in Kaduna.
The projects included cadets accommodation, headquarters of cadets brigade, science laboratory, armoury and a hall of fame.
The inauguration was part of activities outlined ahead of the Passing Out Parade and Presidential Commissioning of NDA Cadets of 69 Regular Course, expected to be held on Thursday.
Mr Magashi said that the investment was to ensure highly mobile personnel with the right attitude, composure and attributes to contribute to the defence of the country.
“We are all products of the NDA, we are proud of its achievements so far, and we are hoping that we will do what is required to bring peace and stability to the nation.
“Certainly we are making progress and by God’s grace we shall not fail this nation in all forms of security matters,” Mr Magashi said.
He further said that the academy, established in 1964, has over the years undergone unprecedented transformation in the area of academic and training development.
The defence minister said that the huge investment has raised the training provided by the NDA to world standard.
According to him, the inaugurated projects will add immense value to the training of officer Cadets and generate increased successes to the war against insecurity in the country.
