Nigerian Legion warns Lagosians against patronising fake officials

The Nigerian Legion, Lagos State chapter, has called on the public to stop patronising security imposters, particularly those falsely claiming to represent the Nigerian Legion Corps of Commissionaires.
The Chairman and Deputy Commander General of the Nigerian Legion, Lagos State chapter, Akeem Wolimoh, made the appeal during an interview on Tuesday.
Mr Wolimoh said the warning became necessary because of activities of certain individuals fraudulently parading themselves as representatives of the Nigerian Legion Corps of Commissionaires, Lagos State command.
He urged the public to refrain from entering into contracts for guard services or similar engagements with dubious legions without proper authorisation.
Mr Wolimoh stated, “The general public is hereby advised to be cautious of such groups, which may include deviant members of the corps, dismissed commanders, or outright imposters. They should avoid conducting business with such individuals, as the legion would not be responsible for any breach of contract or damages resulting from the activities of the imposters.”
He warned that continued engagement with the imposters after this public notice could be interpreted as conspiracy and a deliberate attempt to impersonate the Nigerian Legion Corps of Commissionaires.
Mr Wolimoh advised the public to always verify the authenticity of whom they were contracting through the Nigerian Legion Corps of Commissionaires’ office at Bolade, Oshodi, Lagos State command.
