Nigerian boy jailed for stealing he-goat in Kaduna

A Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday sentenced a teenager, David Jonah, for stealing a he-goat.
The police charged the boy with two count of trepass and stealing.
The magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, sentence the convict after he pleaded guilty and begged the court for leniency.
The magistrate, however, gave the convict an option of N10,000 fine and warned him to desist from committing another crime.
The judge further advised the convict to focus on his studies or learn a trade, as the court will not be lenient with him next time.
Earlier, the prosecution, Chidi Leo, told the court that a complainant, Samson John, reported the matter at the station on November 29.
According to Mr Leo, the defendant went into the complainant’s compound while he was away and stole his he-goat worth N65,000.
The officer said the defendant was caught by a neighbour who saw him coming out of the compound with the goat.
Mr Leo said the offence contravened the provisions of Penal Code of Kaduna State, 2017.
