The command of the Nigerian presidency and federal parliament was still in the balance as of Monday morning, two days after the electorate made choices in the 2023 general elections.

Ruling APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu picked up states in his traditional South-West region, while Peter Obi showed historic wins in his traditional South-East region.

How Atiku Abubakar performed in his northern regions remained to be seen, but there were indications as of late Sunday that he had convincingly won his home Adamawa State.

Critical races for the Senate and House of Representatives have yet to be decided across the country. So far, Ekiti is the only state officially announced by electoral chief Mahmood Yakubu at the national collation room in Abuja.
