Nigeria remains steadfast partner in DR Congo’s development: FG

Foreign affairs minister Yusuf Tuggar says Nigeria will continue to support the Democratic Republic of Congo in its efforts to achieve lasting peace, democratic governance, and socio-economic progress.
Mr Tuggar said this in a statement on Monday while congratulating DRC on the occasion of its independence anniversary.
“Nigeria celebrates this historic milestone with the DRC, which symbolises the resilience, courage and determination of the Congolese people in their pursuit of sovereignty, peace and prosperity,” the statement said.

He reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with the DRC, particularly in key areas of mutual interest, including trade, security, and sustainable development.
“Nigeria remains a steadfast partner in supporting the DRC’s efforts towards lasting peace, democratic governance and socio-economic progress,” Mr Tuggar said.
He further called for sustained regional and international cooperation to address the challenges facing the DRC, particularly in the areas of security and humanitarian concerns.
The minister also commended the efforts of the Congolese government in fostering national unity and development.
Mr Tuggar extended Nigeria’s best wishes to the DRC for a peaceful and prosperous independence anniversary celebration.
