Niger commissioner advocates routine medical check-up for workers

Niger Commissioner for Agriculture, Musa Bawa-Bosso, on Friday emphasised the importance of routine medical checkups among staff.
He said that this would enhance staff wellbeing as well as improve efficiency and productivity.

He said the retreat was aimed at enhancing the skills and capacity of staff for effective and efficient service delivery.
Mr Bawa-Bosso urged participants to adopt a healthy lifestyle to improve their mental health.
He said, “The objective of the retreat is to build the capacity of participants to ensure effective service delivery, particularly in the ongoing agricultural revolution in the state.’’
He commended resource persons for their insightful presentations, noting that the Governor Umaru Bago-led administration was committed to revamping the agriculture sector.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Matthew Ahmed, explained that the retreat was aimed at complementing government efforts in capacity building.
Some of the presentations at the retreat included routine medical checkups and health talk.
He said it would be by Mary Dirisu, consultant and public health expert from the Federal Medical Centre, Bida.
