NiDCOM congratulates Nigerian man Fadare for winning Canada’s parliamentary election

Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the chairwoman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, has congratulated Adegoke Fadare on winning the seat as a member of the Legislative Assembly representing Clayton Park West constituency in Nova Scotia, Canada.
The NiDCOM chief congratulated Mr Fadare in a statement.
Mr Dabiri-Erewa stated that Mr Fadare’s victory represented “a win for all Nigerians in the diaspora, and by extension, Africans.”
She praised him for displaying “true sportsmanship” during the election.
She affirmed that Fadare’s election success highlighted the belief of his constituents in his competence and capacity to navigate the next course of affairs in their area.
Mr Dabiri-Erewa urged him not to betray the trust reposed in him by his supporters but to use his expertise to improve the socio-economic well-being of his constituents.
The NiDCom chairman wished Fadare a successful tenure.
Mr Fadare is a Nigerian cybersecurity expert, project manager, and politician based in Canada.
He won the Nova Scotia House of Assembly, representing the Clayton Park West ward, at the 2024 general election in November.
In the election, Mr Fadare, representing the Progressive Conservative (PC) party, garnered 2,096 votes (or 35.4 per cent) of a total of 5,913 reported votes.
He defeated Wendy Hood-Morris of the Nova Scotia New Democratic Party (NDP), who came second, winning 2,010 of the votes (or 34 per cent) of the total votes reported.
Elizabeth Eustaquio-Domondon, the incumbent of the Liberal Party (LIB), came third, winning a total of 1,807 votes (or 30.6 per cent) of the total votes reported.
