NFSS Kano command receives 99 complaints

The Nigeria Forest Security Service in Kano said it received 99 complaints in March.
The commander, Abdullahi Al’ameen, said this in a statement on Wednesday.
“Most of the cases reported were bush burning, cattle rustling, car theft, deforestation, motorcycle and tricycle theft, house and shop breaking, illegal cutting of trees, thuggery, and robbery, among others. Out of the 99 complainants, 50 have been treated, while 49 are pending,” it said.
Mr Al’ameen explained that the service’s main activities include the prevention and detection of crimes and illegal activities in the forests.
He added that they would continue to partner with relevant stakeholders on community policing.
“Our personnel will be trained to gather relevant information on thieves, thuggery, kidnapping and others. NFSS will continue to secure and make the forests free of crime,” he said.
Mr Al’ameen urged the public to report criminal activities happening in their communities and surroundings and to desist from covering up crimes.
