NFF unveils 26-man Super Eagles squad for Ghana, Mali friendly matches

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will face Black Stars of Ghana and the Eagles of Mail in the upcoming FIFA international break later in March, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced.
Super Eagles had earlier been scheduled to play against World Champions Argentina in the United States during the international break but the match was canceled due to the failure of the Nigerian contingent to secure American visas.
Consequently, the situation forced the NFF to look elsewhere to keep the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) silver medalist engaged during the break. So, the federation decided to renew the football rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana in Morocco.
Nigeria will face Ghana at the Grand Stade de Marrakech in Morocco on March 22nd before taking on Mali on 26th March at the same venue.
Meanwhile, the federation has also released a 26-man squad for the two games, with Luton Town defender Gabriel Osho – born in England to Nigerian parents and ex-Bendel Insurance man, Benjamin Tianimu, receiving their first national team call ups.
Many players from the team that finished second at the 2023 AFCON were also retained for the matches while Wilfred Ndidi, who missed the tournament due to injury, returned to the squad.
