New Year: Gov. Fintiri urges citizens to live in peace

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa has urged citizens to continue to live in peaceful and harmonious co-existence for more development.
In his new year message, by media aide Humwashi Wonosikou, Mr Fintiri assured the state and its citizens of safety.
He emphasises the need for people to continue to live in peace irrespective of differences for more development in the state and country.
“As a state, God is helping us to emerge from the scourge of underdevelopment and insecurity.
“I urge you to embrace and support the good policies of the government to enable us to do more,” he said.
Mr Fintiri challenged residents to start by defining the kind of future they want.
“It is only when we agree on this that we can unite towards recreating the Adamawa of our collective dreams,” he said.
The governor expressed optimism that the nation’s challenges were surmountable.
He reassured the citizens that his administration would not fail them but would ensure that it consolidated the gains even more.
According to him, success, cooperation, and support of the people are paramount for that to happen.
“The truth of the matter is that, whether it is the downturn of the economy or our security situation, the challenges are traceable to ourselves,” Mr Fintiri added.
He tasked the people to re-invent the unity of purpose that existed before them, saying they should draw strength from the nation’s diversity.
He stated that if all Nigerians accepted each other as one, the electoral process in 2023 would be peaceful and transparent.
The governor also urged the political class to pursue issue-based campaigns instead of a campaigns of calumny, hatred and winning at all costs.
