New NBMA boss assumes duty, seeks support

Dr Agnes Asagbra the new Director General (D-G), of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA), on Tuesday in Abuja, assumed office, with a call on members of staff for support.
Ms Asagbra made the appeal at the handover ceremony by her predecessor, Dr Rufus Ebegba.
“I can’t do it on my own, we have to do it together, and we are going to take NBMA to greater heights,” she stated.
She promised to always operate an open door policy to encourage healthy communication and teamwork.
Ms Asagbra commended Mr Ebegba’s efforts during his years tenure, and wished him success in his future endeavours.
Earlier, the outgone D-G, urged members of staff of the agency to offer greater support to the incoming D-G in the overall best interest of NBMA.
He urged Ms Asagbra to accelerate efforts at ensuring the agency moved to its headquarters.
Mr Ebegba had been in office since 2015.
Ms Asagbra is a scientist, a microbiologist and a biotechnologist.
Until her appointment as NBMA D-G, she was the Acting D-G of the Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Lagos State.
