NDA, 1 Division strengthen operational collaboration

The commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Oluyemi Olatoye, on Tuesday, paid a courtesy visit to the general officer commanding, 1 Division, Abubakar Wase, in Kaduna.
The GOC also serves as the commander of the Sector 1 Joint Task Force (North-West) for Operation Fansan Yamma.
The visit, held at the division’s headquarters in Kawo, was in line with military tradition and aimed at strengthening operational collaboration between the division and the academy.
Mr Olatoye commended the warm reception accorded to his entourage and commended the division for its steadfast operational support to the academy, particularly through the 37 Demonstration Battalion.
He stated that integrating the NDA into the division’s security architecture had significantly enhanced rapid-response capabilities against threats within the Academy and neighbouring communities.
He said, “We must acknowledge the visible improvements in security around the Nigerian Defence Academy.
“Under determined leadership, previous security gaps have been closed, ensuring sustained protection of our personnel, infrastructure and training activities.”
Mr Wase commended the commandant for his leadership and unwavering support toward training and institutional cooperation.
He reaffirmed the division’s commitment to supporting the NDA and other military formations, emphasising that seamless collaboration remained the cornerstone of operational success in the region.
