NCoS boss urges officers to have ‘right attitude’

The acting controller general of the Nigeria Correctional Service, Sylvester Nwakuche, has called on officers and men of the service to display the right attitude when discharging their duty, especially towards inmates.
Speaking during a lecture for the officers on Thursday in Abuja, Nwakuche stressed the importance of achieving desired productivity and enhancing the service’s reputation.
Mr Nwakuche said that the call for attitude adjustment became necessary as the service had reaffirmed its commitment to holistic reforms in the NCoS, focusing on rehabilitation, reformation, and redemption.
He explained that the vision of the service prioritised staff welfare, training and community engagement, ensuring effective service delivery and enhanced public safety.
Mr Nwakuche pledged to create a conducive work environment, soliciting support from officers while urging officers to embrace the changes and strive for excellence in their duties.
The acting controller general also urged officers to “revamp” their character and mindset, saying that a character and attitude makeover was essential in all ramifications.
