Nasarawa speaker vows to raise residents’ standard of living through legislation

Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, says the house will continue to enact laws to boost the standard of living of residents of the state.
The speaker stated this while hosting the former female councillors forum, Nasarawa state chapter, on Thursday in his office in Lafia.
Mr Jatau appreciated the members of the association and assured them of his administration’s readiness to enact laws that would improve the standard of living of women.
“My appreciation goes to Gov. Abdullahi Sule and my colleagues for supporting my emergence as Speaker of the House.
“Please, what I need from you and other people is your prayers and support to succeed.
“By God’s grace, I will not fail while discharging my duties as Speaker of the 7th Assembly.”
He urged the women and others to continue to live in peace and unity, irrespective of their affiliation.
“Let’s embrace peace, shun our ethnic and religious sentiments and embrace one another for the overall development of the state,” he said.
He further urged them to support the lawmakers for the overall development of their constituencies.
The matron of the association, Sada’atu Yahaya, who is also the executive secretary, Nasarawa State Scholarship Board, lauded the achievements of the speaker in the areas of unity and peace, among other developmental strides.
Ladi Kuje, the acting president, former female councillors forum in Nasarawa State, said that the visit was to congratulate Mr Jatau on his emergence as speaker of the state legislature.
She congratulated Gov. Abdullahi Sule and APC for the victory at the Supreme Court.
