Nasarawa: Police nab four suspected burglars, recover stolen solar batteries, TV sets

Operatives of the Nasarawa state police command have arrested four suspects for allegedly burgling an electronic shop and stealing items.
The command’s public relations officer, Ramhan Nansel, disclosed this in a press release issued on Sunday.
He said, “On 1/6/2023, at about 0800hrs, a complaint was lodged at A Division Lafia, that an electronic store, situated at Rimi Uku, Lafia, was burgled and items were carted away.
The state’s police spokesperson said the command, after receiving the complaint, launched an investigation which led to the arrest of four suspects in connection to the crime.
Mr Nansel said the suspects include, “Sa’ad Kashina 24yrs, Bawa Saidu 30yrs, Sagir Mohammed 28yrs and Isiaka Mohammed 20yrs all males of Doma and Lafia respectively” adding that “Four (4) Kapital solar batteries and Two (2) 32-inch LG television sets were recovered from them as exhibits.”
“Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to selling Four Laptops, which are part of the stolen items in Makurdi, Benue State, at the rate of Thirty Thousand Naira,” he further revealed.
The command also stated that the Masaka Division, received a report of a case of theft “where one Bissan Mark ‘M’ of Angwan Mission, Masaka, was arrested in connection to the commission of the crime.”
He stated that the police executed a search warrant at his residence where they recovered “one locally fabricated revolver Pistol and a knife,” as exhibits.
Mr Nansel stated that the commissioner of police, Umar Shehu Nadada, has directed the divisional police officers to extensively investigate the cases and charge the suspects to court for prosecution without delay.
