The Nasarawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency (NSPHCDA) says the state government will complete the  revitalisation of 58 healthcare facilities across the state by June.

The executive secretary of the agency, Usman Saleh, disclosed this on Wednesday, when he received members of the correspondents chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nasarawa State Council, in his office in Lafia.

Mr Saleh said that the idea was to provide easy access to healthcare services and improve the health status of the people of the state.

He said that the state government under the leadership of Gov. Abdullahi Sule was committed to the provision of quality healthcare to the people of the state.

“His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule is very committed, he is a selfless leader that has the health of the people of the state at heart.

“We also have our partners, such as the World Bank, among other partners that have been supporting us to improve on the health status of our people,” he said.

Mr Saleh further disclosed that through the World Bank, the State Government and other sources, the agency had what it called Impact Project being driven by the World Bank.

“So far, we have 58 facilities in Nasarawa State already undergoing revitalisation and it is expected to complete by June 2025.

“By June this year, by God’s grace, we will have 58 revitalised healthcare facilities in the state in order to boost the health status of our people,” he said.

Mr Saleh thanked the chapel members for the visit and assured them of his leadership’s readiness to operate an open and all-inclusive leadership system.

He also charged members of the chapel to organise medical outreach that would have direct health impacts on the people.

The NSPHCDA boss assured the chapel of his support to help it succeed.

Earlier, the chapel chairman, Isaac Ukpoju, said the visit was to congratulate Saleh on his appointment  and wished him well.

“We are here basically to congratulate you on your appointment as the Executive Secretary of this agency.

“Your appointment did not come to us as a surprise due to your track record,” he said.

Mr Ukpoju also assured him of the chapel’s readiness to collaborate with the agency by providing effective publicity to its activities.
