Muslim community hails Obasa’s emergence as 10th Lagos Assembly Speaker

The Lagos State House of Assembly Muslim Community has congratulated Mudashiru Obasa on his emergence as the Speaker of the 10th Assembly for the third consecutive time.
The Chief Imam of Alausa Central Mosque, Saliu Rufai, made this known in a congratulatory message issued on Wednesday in Lagos.
Mr Rufai said the emergence of Mr Obasa as the speaker had demonstrated the importance of legislative experience and competence especially in the legislative business of governance.
He also congratulated the returning and new members that were sworn in and enjoined them to put the fear of Allah in all their affairs.
The chief Imam urged the lawmakers to focus on their constitutional responsibilities and make enabling laws that would alleviate the suffering of the masses.
He also expressed gratitude to Allah for His continuous guidance and protection over the House, the Muslim community, leadership, members, management and members of staff of the assembly.
He said the council also congratulated President Bola Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and the Deputy Governor Obafemi Hazmat, on their successful inauguration on May 29.
Mr Obasa’s emergence followed Tuesday’s proclamation and inauguration of the 10th Assembly by Governor Sanwo-Olu.
He was unanimously elected by the 40 members in the House after he emerged as the sole nominee to the position.
