Mushin Tanker Fire: Lagos motorists advised to seek alternative routes

Motorist have been advised to avoid the Idi-Oro Mushin corridor on Age Motor Road, Lagos following a fire outbreak at Mobil filling station.
The filling station, located at Alakara Bus Stop, went up in flames Wednesday afternoon when a 33,000 litres petrol tanker was discharging its contents at the station.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service in a statement signed by its Director, Adeseye Margaret, advised commuters to find alternative routes away from the scene of the disaster.
“Motorists are advised to seek alternative route away from the Idi Oro Corridor of Agege Motor Road, Mushin,” Mrs Adeseye advised while raising an update on the accident.
The Fire Service said the cause of the fire remained sketchy but promised to furnish the public with the details as soon as the cause is ascertain.
“The report of the fire incident was received at 13:17 hrs, saw the Agency mobilising other emergency responders of the State to put up a concerted efforts in combatting the inferno
“Preliminary investigation revealed that it is a 33,000 Tanker that is fully laden with Premium Motor Spirit, otherwise known as Petrol that is on Fire,” reads the statement in parts.
