Mongolia celebrates National Flag Day

Mongolia celebrated its National Flag Day on Wednesday to honour the national flag, preserve historical customs and traditions, and strengthen national unity.
A national flag-raising ceremony took place at the central square, attended by Mongolian President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, Parliament Speaker Dashzegve Amarbayasgalan, and Prime Minister Luvsannamsrai Oyun-Erdene.
Others were cabinet and parliament members, veterans, as well as thousands of citizens and representatives of embassies and diplomatic missions in Mongolia.
There would be a parade featuring 1,500 military and police personnel in the central square.
As an additional decree of the Mongolian President, a ceremony was held to permanently raise a 16×8-metre national flag on a 60-metre-high pole in Ulan Bator Park in the capital city.
National Flag Day has been celebrated since 2009 on July 10, one day before the traditional Naadam festival kicks off.
