Popular rappers, Folarin ‘Falz’ Falana and Olanrewaju Ogunmefun popularly known as Vector, have announced that 10 new artistes would feature in the remix for their single “Mr Yakubu” which satirises Nigeria’s 2023 general elections.

The presidential election has been surrounded by controversies over the legitimacy of the process which saw Bola Tinubu emerge as winner, prompting the two leading opposition parties, the People’s Democratic Party and Labour Party, to challenge the outcome in court.

Announcing the news via his Instagram page, Falz who is a vocal critic of the conduct of the Independent National Election Commission (INEC) during the past elections, especially the presidential poll, said only ten people were shortlisted out of “too many dope” entries.

“We initially announced that there would be 3 winners from the challenge,” Falz posted on Saturday night. “We later realised that was an underestimate. There are tooooo many dope entries that we cannot ignore, so we decided to stretch that number to 10! Even this was toughhhh.”

He further said all the finalists namely Monaqueen, Fozter, Retired Madman, Dangelika Belle, Majest Lyn K, Only Jibrille, DBoss Anike, Thepdstrn, Priesst and Enochsings are going to be featured on the ‘Mr Yakubu’ remix.

“All winners be featured on the extended remix version of #MrYakubu – one of the tracks on the Falz x VEC collab project dropping in a bit!,” the statement added.

In the video released for the original single, Falz mirrored a Peoples Gazette exclusive which exposed plans of a secret meeting between President-elect Bola Tinubu and Chief Justice Kayode Ariwoola in London.

Gazette reported in its exclusive story that Mr Ariwoola had planned a secret meeting in London with president-elect Tinubu in which the former left the shore of the country using a wheelchair to disguise as a physically challenged man to avoid suspicions.
