Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria plans to organise a train-the-trainers programme for Deejays Association of Nigeria officials to enable them to enforce copyright laws and ensure that all DJs are properly licensed.

DJAN chairman in Abuja, Isa Justice, aka DJ Smooth Play, said this at the 2025 Welcome Party organised for DJAN members in Abuja.

The programme will be held in Lagos during the first quarter of 2025.
Justice said all DJAN chairpersons across the country, including national executive officers, would be trained on the guidelines before they embark on copyright law enforcement.

He expressed optimism that the training would empower all DJAN officials to train their members further in various chapters on copyright laws, enforcement, and compliance.

DJAN’s spokesman, Taiwo Ogungbuyi (DJ Teazer), commended MCSN for initiating the programme.

Mr Ogungbuyi said the programme would help the association sensitise its members to be properly licensed before using music, which is somebody’s intellectual property.

According to him, this programme will empower DJAN executives to embark on sensitisation and public enlightenment through the media and social media platforms before clamping down on unlicensed DJs across the country.
