In a six goal thriller at the Etihad on Sunday, Manchester City shared points with Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League, leaving Arsenal sit atop the EPL log with three points.

The Gunners had opened a four point lead after defeating Wolverhampton 2-1 at the Emirates on Saturday. But City failed to close the margin by securing just a point from their game against Spurs.

With a 3-3 draw, City have now gone three games without a win, while Spurs avoided a third consecutive defeat by grabbing a point from the champions.

A clinical counter-attack finish by Son Heung-min gave Spurs an early lead at the Etihad barely six minutes into the game. City, however, levelled up three minutes later courtesy of Son’s own goal.

Phil Foden put City ahead in the 31st minute but were twice denied by the woodwork before halftime.

With City leading by a lone goal, Spurs came into the second half pushing harder to avoid another defeat.

Giovani Lo Celso pulled an equaliser for Spurs in the 69th minute, leaving both teams at per. But Jack Grealish restored City’s lead in the 81st minute courtesy of an assist from Erling Haaland.

It appeared City have won all three points until Dejan Kulusevski’s brilliant header shook City’s net, bringing the score to 3-3.

Sunday’s outcome left City in third position on the EPL log, a point ahead of Liverpool and three behind league leaders, Arsenal.
