Man United, Tottenham into Europa final; Chelsea, Real Betis in Conference showdown

Manchester United have reached the final of the 2025 UEFA Europa League following an impressive 7-1 aggregate win over Athletic Bilbao across the two legs of their semi-final tie.
Following a 3-0 win in the first leg away in Spain last week, United got the job done at Old Trafford on Thursday with a 4-1 comeback win to book their place in an all-English final against Tottenham.
Midfielder Mikel Jauregizar put the visitors ahead one minute past the half-hour mark through a sublime finish from 25 yards out, propping up Bilbao’s hope of staging a dramatic comeback.
However, Mason Mount dashed such hopes in the 72nd minute, 10 minutes after coming on as the England international curled home a pass from Leny Yoro to equalise for United.
Barely eight minutes later, Casemiro headed home Bruno Fernandes’ freekick to put the Red Devils ahead for the first time in the match, marking the first time a Brazilian has netted in consecutive European matches after he scored last week.
Rasmus Hojlund scored United’s third goal in the 85th minute as he tapped home a cross from Amad Diallo into an empty net before Mount, from long range, fired home a poor clearance from the visitors’ goalkeeper to seal the win for the hosts.
Manchester United will face Tottenham, who defeated Bodo/Glimt on a 5-1 aggregate scoreline, in the final at the San Mames Stadium in Bilbao on May 21.
Meanwhile, Chelsea will face La Liga side Real Betis in the final of the Conference League at the Wrocław Stadium in Poland on May 28 following their semi-final wins over Djurgarden and Fiorentina, respectively.
Chelsea recorded an emphatic 5-1 aggregate win against Swedish Djurgarden across both legs of the round, while Fiorentina made Betis work hard for their 4-3 aggregate victory to book a place in the final.
