Man United secure dramatic win over Liverpool

Last season’s finalists Manchester United will face Championship side Coventry City in the semi-finals of the Emirates FA Cup while defending champions Manchester City tango Chelsea.
Man United reached the last four of this year’s tournament following a dramatic 4-3 comeback win over Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday with Amad Diallo’s last minute goal in extra time sealing the victory for the Red Devils.
Scott Mctominay opened the scoring for United inside the opening 10 minutes of the quarter-final tie before Alexis Mac Allister equalised for Liverpool with an effort from yards away in the 44th minute.
Mohamed Salah put Liverpool ahead for the first time in the game after Andre Onana spilled a save into the legs of the Egyptian just before the half time break.
In the 87th minute, substitute Antony sent the game into extra time after a contested ball by Alejandro Garnacho met the former inside the box and he turned, firing a low shot home with his right leg.
Marcus Rashford could have won the game for the Red Devils with the last real action in the regulation time but the England international who went one-on-one with the goalkeeper fired wide.
Inside the extra time, Harvey Elliott put Liverpool ahead again but Rashford scored to make it 3-3 before Diallo, set up by Garnacho from a counterattack, slotted the ball into the net to send United into the last four.
Meanwhile, Chelsea thrashed Leicester City 4-2; Manchester City beat Newcastle United courtesy of Bernardo Silva’s brace while Coventry City shocked Wolves with a 3-2 away win in the other quarter-finals fixtures.
