Man remanded over theft of items worth N1.6 million

A 35-year-old man, Seun Adimu, on Wednesday, pleaded guilty before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court to house entering and stealing of items worth N1.6 million.
Adimu was earlier arraigned on the counts of attempt to commit felony, house entering and stealing.
He pleaded guilty to all the charges.
The Magistrate, Gladys Olanrewaju, remanded him at the correctional facility and adjourned the case until November 4, for review of facts.
The prosecutor, Inspector Samuel Owolabi, said that the defendant committed the offences on October 4, at about 6.00 a.m, at Akeredolu Street, Elebu in Ibadan.
Mr Owolabi said that the defendant entered the house of one Ismail Olaniyi and stole laptops, PS4 console and a school bag containing vital items all valued at N1.6 million.
He said the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 509, 412 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
