Man jailed two years for stealing window frame

An Upper Area Court in Jos has sentenced an unemployed man, Samuel John, to 24 months’ imprisonment for stealing a window frame and the cover of a well.
Presiding judge Daniel Damulak sentenced Mr John following a guilty plea to trespass and theft. Mr John begged the court for leniency.
The judge gave the convict an option of N40,000 fine.
Prosecution counsel, Ibrahim Gukwat, told the court that the case was reported in Laranto Police Station in Jos, on May 7, by Njoku Franklyn, the complainant.
He said Mr John trespassed on the complainant’s uncompleted building and stole a window frame and a well cover.
The prosecutor said during the police investigation, the convict confessed to stealing the items and admitted that he sold the stolen items.
