Man caught with 340 rounds of ammunition hidden in bag of garri

The police in Delta State has arrested Solomon Ebe for having 340 rounds of AK-47 live ammunition concealed inside a bag of garri.
The command spokesperson, Bright Edafe, said the suspect was apprehended on Friday by the patrol team of the Bomadi police division.
“On October 1, 2021, at about 7:30 a.m., policemen attached to Bomadi divisional patrol team while on stop-and-search duty at Bomadi-Tuomo Road intercepted a cyclist conveying one Ebe who carried a bag containing garri.
“The operatives, who were reasonably suspicious, decided to search the suspect and the bag.
“Upon searching the bag, 340 rounds of AK-47 live ammunition hidden inside the garri were recovered. The suspect was arrested while an investigation is ongoing,” he said.
Similarly, Mr Edafe said the command had also apprehended a female, Ejiro Efemijoghor, for having an English double barrel gun and 26 live cartridges.
She was arrested on Wednesday by operatives attached to the command’s Raider Squad.
“The suspect claimed that the gun belongs to her husband,” Mr Edafe said, adding that the command was investigating the matter.
