Man, 32, arraigned over alleged theft of goods worth N16.3 million

A 32-year-old man, Olorunda Daisi, on Wednesday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing parcel of goods valued at N16.3million belonging to CFL Global Express Ltd.
Daisi, whose address was not given, is charged with conspiracy and theft.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecutor, SP Josephine Ikhayere, told the court that the defendant committed the offence between December 2024 and February in the Anifowose area of Lagos.
She alleged that the defendant conspired with others, now at large, to steal a parcel of goods from CFL Global Express Ltd, operators of Skynet Worldwide Express.
“The defendant and his cohorts stole a shipment parcel from the warehouse of CFL Global Express Ltd. located in Ikeja valued at N16.3 million,” she alleged.
Ms Ilhayere said that the defendant was eventually arrested following a police investigation.
She said that the offence contravenes the provisions of Sections 287(7) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, Lateef Owolabi, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He said that the sureties must be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment.
Mr Owolabi adjourned the case until May 7, for hearing.
