The police, on Thursday, arraigned a 28-year-old man, Popoola Kehinde, before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a goat.

The defendant, of no fixed address, is standing trial on a charge of stealing.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him.

He urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him to study the file and assemble his witnesses.

Counsel to the defendant, Oluwafemi Alabi, urged the court to grant the defendant bail, with a promise that he would not jump bail.

The Chief Magistrate, Abayomi Adeosun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety in like sum.

He adjourned the case till April 28, for hearing.
