Man, 27, faces burglary, theft of goods worth of N5million

A 27-year-old man, Napoleon Imasuen, who allegedly burgled a shop and stole goods worth N5 million on Thursday appeared before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The defendant was charged before Magistrate L K J Layeni, on a three-count charge bordering on burglary, malicious damage and stealing.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, ASP Simon Uche, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on November 29, in the Shibiri area of Ojo.
He alleged that the defendant maliciously burgled and damaged the property of one Remi Tijani, represented by one Shared Olajide, and stole goods worth N5 million.
The prosecutor said the goods stolen were wires, electrical junction boxes, two pumping machines, and house property.
He said the stolen goods belonged to one Ikechukwu Nwatu, who stored them inside the premises.
According to him, the offences contravene the provisions of Section 287, 307 and 355 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The magistrate granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum .
The magistrate adjourned the case until January 8, 2025 for mention.
