Man, 25, arraigned over alleged theft of N100,000

A 25-year-old man, Rasaq Ejinike, on Thursday appeared before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly breaking into a house and stealing N100,000.
The defendant of undisclosed address, is facing trial on a two-count charge of house breaking and theft, preferred against him in the charge No: MI/ 01/2025
According to the prosecutor, Inspector Femi Oluwadare, the defendant committed the offences on December 30, 2024, at about 10.00 a.m. at Omo Ajoke Paara Oritamerin area of Ibadan.
Mr Oluwadare said the defendant unlawfully entered into the dwelling place of one Ibrahim Idowu and stole the sum of N100,000.
He said the complainant reported the case at Ogbere Police Station.
Mr Oluwadare said the offences contravened Sections 390 (9) and 412 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, M. Mudashiru admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
He adjourned the case until January 9 for hearing.
