Premier League side Liverpool and Dutch outfit Feyenoord have agreed a compensation package for manager Arne Slot, who will become the Reds’ next head coach when Jurgen Klopp leaves at the end of the current season.

According to renowned football journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool will pay a compensation fee of at least €13 million to Feyenoord to secure the service of the Dutchman, who is expected to take over from outgoing Klopp for the 2024/25 season.

“Arne Slot will be the most expensive Dutch coach ever as Liverpool will pay a compensation fee around €13-15m,” Romano said on social media on Friday.

The Reds are now expected to reach an agreement with the 45-year-old whose attacking style of play and ability to develop players interested Liverpool to have him at Anfield with a deal to be completed over the weekend before an official announcement.

Liverpool had initially shown interest in former player and Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso, but the Spaniard made the decision to stay at the club after leading them to their first-ever league title.

Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim was also a reported target for the position at Anfield, but he has apparently not convinced decision-makers at Liverpool to secure an appointment as the Reds’ next manager.
