LG Elections: OYSIEC opens registration portal for ad hoc staff recruitment
The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) has commenced the recruitment of ad hoc staff for the December 29 local government elections in the state.
This is contained in a statement signed and issued by the chairman of the electoral body, Afees Adeniyi, on Monday in Ibadan.
According to the statement, registration for the required positions will run from October 5 to October 20, 2026.
The statement directed eligible and interested individuals to register on the commission’s electronic recruitment portal within the stipulated period.
The statement reads: “The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission invites applications from eligible candidates to serve as ad hoc staff in the Dec. 29 local government elections in the following categories: Presiding Officers (PO) and Assistant Presiding Officers (APO).
“Others include Supervisors (SU), Ward Collation Officers (WCO), Local Government Returning Officers (LGRO) and Local Government Assistant Returning Officers (LGARO).
“All interested applicants are to register on the OYSIEC e-recruitment portal: https://oysiec.org/adhoc on or before the above deadline.
“To be considered for engagement, all candidates must have the following documents/information: a functional phone number and an Android-enabled phone.
“Also, applicants must have a functional email address, a functional operational commercial bank account and relevant educational qualifications,” it said.
It noted that applicants for the posts of presiding officers (PO)/assistant presiding officers must have OND/NCE as minimum qualifications, with BA/B.Sc./HND for supervisors (SU)/ward collation officers (WCO).
It added that the local government returning Officers (LGRO)/LG assistant returning officers (LGARO) must be chief lecturers or their equivalent in tertiary institutions.
The statement also enjoined applicants to use the commission’s official mobile lines to direct all enquiries to the commission’s Information Technology Management Help Desk.
