LAWMA arrests two cart pushers for dumping refuse on roadside

Officials of the Lagos Waste Management Agency (LAWMA) have arrested two illegal cart pushers in FESTAC town and Amuwo Odofin.
The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this on his official X handle on Saturday.
Mr Wahab stated that 30 carts were also seized during enforcement exercise.
The cart pushers collect refuse and waste from residents and traders and illegally dump them by the roadside, walkway, and other places.
The commissary wrote, “LAWMA @Lawma_gov monitoring and enforcement team on morning duty at FESTAC town, Amuwo Odofin to apprehend some illegal cart pushers who collect refuse and waste from residents and market traders around the environment to dump illegally by the roadside, walkway, and median constituting environmental pollution and causing harm to human health.
“Two(2) cart pushers who were obstinate were apprehended, and 30 carts were seized.”
