LASUSTECH closes staff school indefinitely over pupil’s death

The International Staff School of Lagos State University of Science and Technology (ISS-LASUSTECH) has shut down pending investigation of the death of a pupil.
Peoples Gazette had earlier reported that three suspects were arrested in connection with the death of Abdul-Rahman Dauda, a pupil of the school located in Ikorodu.
The SS2 pupil was allegedly chased to his death by his teacher on October 28. The mother of the deceased took to protesting the death of her son in front of the school gate.
In a statement, the spokesperson for ISS-LASUSTECH, Lanre Kunye, said the school has been shut down due to the unfortunate incident.
He added that students will be engaged in online learning while the school will be restructured and repositioned.
“In view of the unfortunate incident that recently occurred at Lagos State University of Science and Technology International Secondary School (LISS) which claimed the life of a student, the Management of Lagos State University of Science and Technology wishes to inform the general public that the school has been closed forthwith due to the unfortunate incident.
“During this period, students will be engaged with on-line learning. The period of closure will be used to restructure and reposition the school,” the statement said.
