Las Vegas police arrest Tupac’s killer, Mohbad’s ongoing investigation, other entertainment highlights

Last week, the global entertainment industry was greeted with the news of the arrest of a suspect behind the unsolved murder case of United States rapper Tupac.
In Nigeria, investigation into the death of Mohbad remains ongoing, with the arrest of Sam Larry and Naira Marley expressing his willingness to return to Nigeria if the police can assure of his safety from angry Nigerians.
Police arrest suspected Tupac killer
In a major development, the Las Vegas police arrested Duane Keith Davis, known as “Keffe D,” in connection with the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas.
Davis had his home searched in July as part of the ongoing investigation into this unsolved case, which has remained open for 27 years.
During the arrest, the police seized electronic items, photos, suspected marijuana, and books related to Keffe D’s involvement.
Mohbad’s ongoing investigation
In recent developments, Sam Larry has been arrested and is now a person of interest in the police investigation surrounding the death of the late musician Mohbad.
In a rebuttal to videos implicating him in the bullying of Mohbad, Sam Larry claims that his dispute with the late musician was over a N2 million debt owed by Mohbad for failing to perform at his mother’s memorial concert.
He claims that several violent confrontations unleashed against Mohbad and now captured in videos on social media were driven by his desire to reclaim the alleged unpaid debts.
He now faces police charges as part of the ongoing investigation into Mohbad’s death.
Meanwhile, Marlian Music boss Naira Marley has stated his willingness to cooperate with the authorities in the investigation, prompting fellow musician Bella Shurmda to post on X: “Sha lo report ara eh!!!”, which means “Go and report yourself!!” in the Yoruba language.
Coroner’s Inquest: Mohbad’s lawyer vows to uncover truth behind death
The Coroner’s inquest into Mohbad’s death took place on Friday at the Magistrate Court in Ikorodu, Lagos. The inquest has set October 13, for witness appearances.
Representing Mohbad’s family, Funmi Falana, along with other legal representatives, held private discussions to outline the process for presenting evidence in the courtroom.
Following these discussions, Ms Falana said they were committed to seeking justice for the late musician, assuring that they were, “advocating for justice, and while we seek peace, justice must prevail. We will uncover the truth behind the death.”

Phyna reacts to reports of abandoning her family
Former Big Brother Naija winner, Josephine ‘Phyna’ Otabor, has responded to recent reports that she abandoned her family after winning the N100 million grand prize on the reality TV show in 2022.
Her father, Felix Otabor, alleged in an interview with Vanguard that the reality TV star vanished after receiving the prize money and refused to support her parents.
In a now-deleted post on social media platform X, Phyna expressed her intention to take legal action against Vanguard newspaper for publishing the interview.

“Now you went to your cupboard to say your father is crying your mother gave him a bastard son? Vanguard will crumble,” she posted.
In response to the reports, she shared a cryptic message on Snapchat that reads: “When I die, feed my body to my family to eat. They must eat my corpse.”
