Lagos serves quit notice on traders at major market

The Lagos State Government has issued a 14-day eviction notice to the occupants of the Alaba Rago Market in the state.
The market, located in the Ojo Local Government Area of the state, is said to be the hotbed of criminals and other vices.
The Lagos police command said the notice was issued to the occupants after months of negotiation between the state and their representatives.
The officials of Rapid Response Squad and Lagos Task Force stormed the market on Thursday to alert the traders on the impending demolition.
The Lagos State government is planning to modernise the market situated along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
In May 2021, residents of Iganmu Under Bridge in Surulere were served notice by the state government.
Also, the state asked Apogbon traders to vacate the area after a fire outbreak under the bridge.
