Lagos: Man nabbed for forging chief magistrates’ stamps, impersonating police officer

Detectives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested one Charles Chukwudi for allegedly forging court documents and impersonating a police officer.
In a press statement issued in Ikeja on Thursday, the command’s public relations officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed that the suspect was arrested on Wednesday in Tinubu Court, Lagos Island.
“Detectives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Lagos State Police Command, have arrested one Charles Chukwudi ‘m’ aged 48 for forgery and impersonation,” Mr Hundeyin wrote.
Mr Hundeyin said the command began investigating the suspect’s fraudulent activities after some court officials discovered them and alerted the police.
“Found in his possession were forged official stamps of chief magistrate admin, C/M Adeola Olatunbosun – Chief Magistrate Court I, Yaba and Magistrate A.B Ajiferuke of Magistrate Court Epe.
“Also found in his possession was a fake police identity card and a passport photograph of the suspect in police uniform, which investigation revealed he had photoshopped,” Mr Hundeyin stated.
He said the suspect has since been arraigned.
