Lagos: Driver killed after minibus’ collision with truck

The driver of a minibus has died after his vehicle collided with a truck in Lagos.
The crash occurred on Wednesday inward Otedola Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
LASTMA spokesman Adebayo Taofiq said in a statement that the minibus’ brake failed.
“The severe impact left the driver of the minibus trapped within the wreckage,” Mr Taofiq explained. “However, the swift and coordinated intervention of LASTMA Officers ensured the immediate rescue of other passengers, all of whom emerged unscathed.”
Mr Taofiq stated that LASTMA, the Lagos State Ambulance Service and FRSC personnel were at the scene for the rescue operation.
“Regrettably, despite their commendable efforts, the driver was recovered lifeless. His remains were subsequently handed over to FRSC personnel by LASTMA Officers,” he stated.
