Lagos deputy Gov., commissioners, others pay Mohbad’s mum condolence visit, promise justice

A delegation from Lagos State, led by Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, visited the family of Ileri Oluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, on Tuesday to offer condolences and reassurance following his death.
The delegation, which included chief of staff to the governor Tayo Ayinde, commissioner for youth, Mobolaji Ogunlende, commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, and special adviser on tourism, Idris Aregbe, arrived at the residence of Mohbad’s family to express their condolences and support during this difficult time.
During the visit, Mr Hamzat reiterated the commitment of the Lagos State government to ensuring that justice prevails in the matter. He assured the grieving family that both the Lagos State police and the State Security Services (SSS) would collaborate on a comprehensive investigation to uncover the truth behind the incident.
In a gesture of goodwill and support, the deputy governor also announced that the Lagos State government would provide assistance to the family during this trying period.
He emphasised the government’s commitment to ensuring that Mohbad’s child is well taken care of, reaffirming that the government would do everything in its power to provide necessary support.
The collaborative effort between the police and SSS highlights the seriousness with which the authorities are approaching the investigation, promising answers and closure for the grieving family and the concerned public.
Mohbad was pronounced dead on September 12 and was hurriedly buried the following day under suspicious circumstances. Two human rights lawyers, Festus Ogun and Femi Falana wrote to the state’s attorney-general to cause an inquest into the 27-year-old singer’s death.
The police and more recently with the collaboration of the State Security Service (SSS), have opened a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances of his death and the threats and bullying he endured until his unfortunate demise.
