Lagos arrests 73 for highway crossing, sleeping on bridges

Operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps arrested 73 people on Tuesday for different environmental offences across the state.
The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this on his official X handle with a video revealing those arrested.
He wrote, “A total of 73 persons were arrested earlier today by the operatives of @LAGESCOfficial (KAI) for offences ranging from crossing the road without using the pedestrian bridge, and using the pedestrian bridge as accommodation and other illegal activities.”
The commissioner added that those arrested have been taken to court for prosecution.
This is in the state government’s zero tolerance for environmental indiscipline.
