Lack of playing time at AFCON doesn’t bother me, says Musa

Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has said he is not bothered about the lack of playing time at AFCON ahead of the country’s final showdown against the host Côte d’Ivoire on Sunday.
Speaking to reporters at the pre-match press conference on Saturday, the one-time AFCON winner said he had played for other players to win and he was okay with players playing for him to win.
“I have played for the team, country and players to win, it is also good for my teammates to play for me and win for the country,” the former Kano Pillars player said, adding “The coach will decide whenever he needs me on the pitch.’’
The 31-year-old has yet to enjoy playing time at the tournament which ends tomorrow.
Football commentators believe his leadership role in the team is beneficial to the players. He had said many times that he is sharing his experience with the younger players in the team on the importance of winning the AFCON.
