Kyiv rocked by heavy rocket fire, mayor Klitschko says one dead

Kyiv was rocked by heavy rocket fire in the early hours of Wednesday.
The local military administration and the emergency services reported fires in several districts, including on the roofs of residential buildings and in an industrial area.
It was initially unclear whether these were rocket impacts or damage caused by debris from intercepted missiles.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram that one person was killed and at least three others were injured in Obolon in northern Kyiv.
The Ukrainian air defence had previously warned of the approach of ballistic missiles from the north-east.
On social media, a number of people reported loud explosions in Kyiv.
Ukraine has been defending itself against the large-scale Russian invasion for nearly three years, with Western help.
