Kwara governor mourns AVM Adebayo Lawal

Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has condoled with the family of a former military governor of Benue State, retired Air Vice Marshal Adebayo Lawal, who died on Sunday.
The Offa-born military officer was aged 83.
Mr AbdulRazaq in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, on Monday in Ilorin, also condoled with the Offa community and the Nigerian Air Force.
The governor said the death of the former minister of youths and sports represented the end of an era in Nigeria’s military history, especially the Nigerian Air Force, where he recorded milestones.
“His footprints in the Nigerian Air Force, his fine legacies as a community leader and statesman, and the ideals he lived for will help to preserve his memory,” the governor said.
Mr AbdulRazaq prayed to God for the repose of the late Lawal’s soul and to preserve his family.
Born on Sept. 14, 1941, in Offa, Kwara, the late Lawal joined the Nigerian Air Force in 1963 as a pioneer officer.
