Kwara Assembly speaker calls for sensitisation to prevent fire outbreaks

The Speaker, Kwara House of Assembly, Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, has called for the sensitisation of citizens to precautionary measures to prevent fire outbreaks in the state.
The speaker’s chief press secretary, Shehu Yusuf, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Ilorin.
Mr Yusuf made the call against the backdrop of the fire incident at the popular Ojatuntun market in Ilorin and called for adherence to fire safety measures.
“I wish to sympathise with those who lost their valuables to the Ojatuntun inferno which happened Wednesday night.
”As people, we need to be more fire safety-conscious, especially in this harmattan and yuletide season, to avert recurrence of similar fire outbreaks,” Mr Danladi-Salihu said.
The speaker commended Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for making it to the scene of the inferno late Wednesday night and the men of the fire service for their efforts in quenching the fire.
