Kogi NSCDC detains three over criminal conspiracy, vandalism

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kogi says it has detained three men for alleged criminal conspiracy and vandalism.
The state commandant, Esther Akinlade, said this on Tuesday in Lokoja while briefing journalists on the command’s activities.
Ms Akinlade identified the suspects as Christian Agbo, 33, Nifemi James, 29, and Jafaru Ibrahim, 37.
She said Mr Agbo, along with others currently at large, conspired and vandalised armoured cables on the premises of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Ankpa, at a late hour on October 7.
Ms Akinlade said Mr Agbo was later caught by the NTA security guard on duty when the suspects came for their second operation on October 18, while others escaped.
The state NSCDC boss said the items recovered from Mr Agbo included a saw, chisel, spanner and other instruments used for vandalism.
“Also, on October 20, at about 09:00hrs, two suspects, James and Ibrahim, were detained by the corps’ operatives for allegedly being in possession of armoured cable stolen from a vandalised community transformer,” she said.
Ms Akinlade further said the achievement was made with the collaboration of Ofin Isanlu community members.
“Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime, while the third member of the gang is currently at large.
“They will all be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” Ms Akinlade said.
